OOH Media’s partnership with GR8 Women Achievers Awards 2009.

OOH Media had partnered up with GR8 Women Achievers Awards 2009. The event is organized by FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) and Indian Television Academy to salute the women achievers of the country every year. The Awards were started in the year 2003 and have grown over the years. The platform of this Award-Ceremony is also used to raise a voice for ‘beti’, a movement to spread awareness against the cursed mindset of Female Foeticide, rampant all across the country, today.

The event which encourages women’s power and achievement every year, honour the Women with unparalleled contribution in their respective feilds and has made the Country proud. This Awards function is one of its kind as it covers 25 different categories and the awardees, are leaders in their fields and come from all parts of the country. Women Achievers are selected in different categories: Advertising, Banking, Corporate Excellence, Education, Entrepreneurship, Media, Finance, IT, Political Leader, Social Activist, Author, Musician, Fine Artist, Journalist, Movie Actor, Sports etc.

The GR8 Women Achievers Awards 2009 function was on the, 24th Feb 09 at 7 pm at The ITC Grand Maratha, Andheri east. The telecast of the same is on 15th March at 8 pm on Colors

The event was attended by some very prominent celebrities like Aamir Khan, Kumaramanglam Birla, Yash Chopra, Hurman S Baweja, Roop Kumar Rathod, Alka Yagnik, Prem Chopra, Farah Khan and many others

The highlight of the evening was a special tribute paid to 4 women for their bravery - 3 from Mumbai during the 26/11 attacks and one decorated police officer from Jammu & Kashmir.
Farah Khan who gave away the prize for Medicine to Dr. Firuza Parikh personally thanked her for helping her conceive her 3 kids.
Aamir said he was delighted to be in such august company of strong and independent women - "God created both man and woman and She created them equal" he quipped.
